Character Overview:
Haer'Dalis and his acting troop came to the Prime Material Plane of Abeir Toril fleeing an
unhappy cambion. They'd insulted said cambion
during a play they'd put on in their home city of Sigil, the fabled planar "City of Doors." After being rescued from another chaotic, and
perhaps foolish act in the Faerun city of Athkatla, Haer'Dalis allied with the Bhaalspawn who freed him.
It was an alliance that made a great deal of senseHaer'Dalis, a member of Sigil's Doomguard,
is obsessed with chaos and entropy; and chaos seemed a natural result of wherever the Bhaalspawn
appeared. There is gossip that, with his deft tongue and otherworldy charm, he courted the
wingless avariel Aerie. Perhaps she loved him, but, being drawn to orderand a more compassionate
outlook on lifeshe eventually rejected him due his nihilistic embrace of destructive forces. He
wanders the Planes still, looking for adventureand keeping one step ahead of trouble.
Conversion Notes:
This is a new design for him; my original is the pure Bard build. A little more "true" to the concept of the Blade, he sacrifices some of his pure Bard abilities by taking fighter levels to be better at his swordsmanship. Though he has no true "Blade" special attacks, the feat tree pretty well defines what Haer’dalis is capable of anyway. The only downside to this build (as opposed to the pure Bard) is he loses a lot of skill points, so it’s harder to reflect his many skills gathered as an actor (though I spent a number of his fighter skill points cross class). One could split the classes more unevenly, but that leaves him open to XP penalties (although if you’re having him cameo, it may not matter). If you’re pulling in non-core material, the "Able Learner" feat is probably a good one if you’re multiclassing him; I’d probably swap it for Two Weapon Defense. There are also several "Blade"-like prestige classes you might want to apply to him, and for core prestige classes Duelist isn’t a bad choice, though I’d personally probably stick with straight Fighter and Bard levels over Duelist.
